Ways to Help

Donate new or gently-used clothes

Please consider donating new or gently-used women’s and/or children’s clothes. Clothing donations can be dropped-off at our new facility (620 W. English Road) on Fridays between 9:00am and 1:00pm. If you would prefer to schedule a clothing donation pick-up, please email us at: sadie.workingwardrobe@gmail.com. Please reach out if you are interested in organizing a clothing drive with your professional/community/religious organization. We are always grateful for these partnerships.

FAQs

  • We accept women’s attire, specifically professional attire. This may include pants, skirts, dresses, blouses, and blazers. We also collect more casual women’s attire, including jeans and sweaters.

  • We do not accept women’s undergarments, swimsuits, or pajamas. We also prefer to avoid jeans with significant tears and t-shirts with printed logos/slogans.

  • Yes, we accept new and gently-worn women’s shoes and accessories (including purses, scarves, and costume jewelry).

  • Working Wardrobe is a 501(c)(3) organization and thus all clothing donations are tax-deductible to the extend allowable by law. Donors will receive a donation receipt for their clothing.

Volunteer at our “pop-up shop” donation events

We would love for you to help us deliver and distribute clothes to female clients at our non-profit partner locations during our monthly pop-up clothing donation events. During these events, you may be asked to help us style outfits for clients, prepare (hang/steam/fold) clothing, and set-up/break-down our equipment. Volunteer opportunities will be emailed to those interested in assisting.

Help us organize our collection

We are fortunate to say that we receive a lot of clothes, and we need your help sorting through the donations to put them in an organized and workable order. We have monthly sorting events and would love your participation helping us to get our collection prepared for distribution.

Attend our Luncheon

To facilitate sustained support for Working Wardrobe’s initiatives, we feel it is imperative that we communicate with the community about the ongoing plight of clothing insecurity, as well as its negative mental and physical health consequences. Our main method for doing this will be through our annual awareness and advocacy luncheon.  In March of each year, we will host a Working Wardrobe Luncheon.  This month is selected to honor and acknowledge both Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.
